CU360 FAQ

This FAQ answers questions you may have about CU360.

Q: What is CU360?

A: CU360 is CUNA's subscription-based, online research portal. It is stocked with unique tools and in-depth information dedicated to providing market insights and thought leadership to credit unions. CU360 includes editorial, presentations, best practices, national issue surveys, research data, and online analytic tools. Subscriptions come in three tiers: Basic, Expanded and Complete. As the names imply, each level provides access to more tools and content.

Q: What specifically does CU360 offer?

A: All CU360 subscriptions include access for as many staff and leadership access accounts as you require.

At the Basic subscription level, CU360 offers:

  • Editorial, presentations and Best Practice reports covering a broad spectrum of topics and refreshed regularly to keep you informed on the latest trends and useful ideas for CEOs, CFOs, marketing, operations, IT, lending and HR leaders.
  • CU360 Newsletter. Designed to provide credit union executive staff with leading trends, analysis and best practices, the latest issue and a two-year archive of issues are available to CU360 subscribers. You also receive issues hardcopy
  • Archives of CUNA research reports on topics such as fees, compensation & benefits, consumer lending, e-commerce and membership, EScan, as well as access to CUNA's research services for in-depth inquiries.
  • Key rates and economic indicators broken down by state. Also access to the RateAlert service and a year-end version of CUNA's Operating Ratios & Spreads report.

At the Expanded subscription level, you get all of the above, plus:

  • Pointrac. This online branch-analysis tool can instantaneously analyze existing and potential branch and ATM sites. Just type in a street address and Pointrac responds online with market characteristics, financial product potential, and financial projections, helping you save time and resources in your site-analysis efforts.
  • Online Compensation Tools. These resources give credit unions access to the critical information they need to develop a competitive compensation structure. The easy online tools let users create customized compensation reports using the criteria and peers of their choice.
  • Customized Economic Reports. CUNA's Benefits of Membership report lets credit unions know how much money they're putting in their members' pockets. PCA Checkup calculates a credit union's net worth ratio and uses a series of tables and graphs to summarize the interactions between earnings, asset growth, and net worth over time. (Twice yearly)
  • CUBenchmarker. An online performance and benchmarking tool using NCUA Call Report data. Not only does CUBenchmarker have the ability to do traditional single-variable benchmarking, it can also use multiple variables to benchmark entire business issues, such as membership growth or branch effectiveness. This new approach to benchmarking can analyze business plans to simultaneously justify, direct, and identify performance goals.

At the Complete subscription level, you get all of the above, plus:

  • Access to the latest CU Environmental Scan strategic planning report, PowerPoint, and worksheets.
  • Access to the latest CEO Salary and Total Compensation national report.
  • Quarterly economic reports (Benefits of Membership, PCA checkup, Operating Ratios & Spreads).
  • More Pointrac and Compensation tool inquiries.

Q: How do I try CU360?

A: You can access a free trial of CU360 by clicking on the free trial selection on the CU360 homepage (http://cu360.cuna.org) in the "Subscribe" box. Your interest will be conducted to one of our subscription consultants, who will contact you to discuss what level of trial and/or subscription best meets the needs of your credit union.

Q: How do I add additional users to my CU360 subscription?

A: Once you have a trial subscription or paid subscription to CU360, you can add as many users from your credit union as you require-including members of your board. Simply login, then select the "Subscription Details" button located in the MY CU360 box on the homepage. This page will display information for you including your level of service, others signed up for access under your subscription, your subscription expiration date, as well as a link "Click to Add subscribers." And that's all you have to do: click on that link and fill out the form. This will add a user to your subscription. And that person will receive a system-generated email alerting them that they have been added and providing them login instructions.

Q: How much is a CU360 subscription?

A: A Basic subscription costs $1,195; an Expanded $4,895; and a Complete $7,495.

Q: What if I'm just interested in a report, say the CU EScan? Do I have to pay for a CU360 subscription in order to obtain it?

A: No. Many of the resources on CU360 are available for separate purchase. However, CU360 bundles many of these tools and thereby provides them at a significant discount when purchased all together.

Q: I was a CU Executive Newsletter subscriber. Now I get weekly CU360 emails and my newsletter looks different. What happened?

A: If you're wondering why you receive the weekly CU360 email...you may be a former CU Executive Newsletter subscriber. In February 2008, we combined subscriptions to the newsletter (and renamed it the CU360 Newsletter) and CU360 so that all subscribers have access to the newsletter and CU360 online. If you haven't already gotten started with CU360:

  • Go to cu360.cuna.org (do not type "www" in front of the address)
  • Click on the log-in link at the top right of the screen
  • Use your email address as your username
  • Use C360TMP as your temporary password
